Beautiful Family Home

This has been such a fun project! Not only was I fortunate enough to work with an already beautiful home but I made new friends with the family who abides here. They exemplify warm and welcoming and I think the changes we made only enhance their lovely home.

I love to start with the front door, making sure it introduces and invites guests in a welcoming way. We painted the front door, added a nice outdoor rug, painted the two Chippendale benches and added two outdoor pillows.

The home office feels cozy and handsome with walls in Farrow & Ball's Inchyra Blue.

The living room was already beautiful and sophisticated but the lighter walls, beautiful painting by Ritva Porter from The Gregg Irby Gallery and fun new pillows breathe fresh air into the space.

This little powder room jumps out when you walk by, with fun paper by Katie Kime and a newly painted chest.

A little sitting area off of the kitchen feels so inviting with new pillows and art work.

And the newly painted kitchen table and chairs with pillows and fabric, also by Katie Kime, are fresh, young and fun!

What a gift to work with such a neat family. I feel richly rewarded when clients become friends.

"Happiness is a warm Puppy!"

Such true words! And I would add...sheer joy is a child with a warm puppy.

This summer has been FULL of fun with Rosie! At first I thought we were crazy but as I watch the boys chase her in the backyard and Janie cuddle with her before bed and first thing each morning, I'm reminded of how full a home is with a loved pet. And I'm thankful we found each other.

Hunter and Charlie were all smiles about turning 5! And it's hard to believe Janie is 9 and starting 3rd grade. I'm also excited to post pictures soon about a fun project with a family here in town.

Some days completely overwhelm me and it's hard to catch my breath but in the moments I can stop and reflect, my heart is so full. I need to remember to catch those moments more often.

Summer Fun Checklist

Summer Fun Checklist

This is our go-to Summer Fun Checklist. It's so fun to sit down and fill it out together. This year's list has some ideas from all of us...everything from make home-made ice cream, go rock mining, hike a trail on the Blue Ridge Parkway, have a lemonade stand, spend time with cousins, camp out and look at the stars...turn 5 and 9 :) Lots of fun ahead. Very thankful for these happy faces.

Spring Colors and An Art Show!

"Lavender and Light" By Sally Powell Boyd

The Pantone Colors of 2016 are Serenity and Rose Quartz. These colors are expressed beautifully in Sally Boyd's painting (above) and can literally dictate the direction of a room, allowing it to feel peaceful and calm.

I am excited to partner with
The Gregg Irby Gallery of Atlanta for a
Pop-Up Art Show in April. Local friends, keep an eye out for a save-the-date with more information. I am also excited to encourage my little budding artists by hosting a children's art show in our backyard. My mom did this when we were little and it encouraged me to start painting and appreciating art from an early age.
