Impromptu Cocktails

It's nice to have everything ready for a last minute get together during the holidays. If you keep fresh flowers in your home, festive cocktail napkins and the makings of a few easy drinks and appetizers, you'll be set for an impromptu gathering with no stress involved. A small table can easily serve as a make-shift bar, like the photo above. Here's a great, concise list of well-stocked bar essentials.

Holiday Cosmopolitan
1 part Vodka
1 part Triple Sec
1 part cranberry juice
Shake with ice

An easy appetizer to have on hand is hot red pepper jelly served over cream cheese with crackers and it's good to keep a mix of nuts by the bar.

And it's absolutely lovely to have a little festive treat or gift for your guests as they depart. A home-made Christmas CD or a little box of chocolates will definitely be enjoyed and appreciated. I'd love to hear your holiday entertaining tips!! Leave a comment or e-mail me and I'll share the ideas.
